Information you provide

When you use EatCheap, you may provide the following information during onboarding and regular use:

• Dietary preferences and food restrictions
• Weekly grocery budget
• Nutritional goals (calories, protein, fat)
• Household size

Authentication data

We use Sign in with Apple for account creation. We receive a unique user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and email address. We do not have access to your Apple ID password.

Data stored on your device

Most of your data — including meal plans, grocery lists, and saved recipes — is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

Data stored on our servers

We store a minimal profile on our servers to enable cross-device syncing and account recovery. This includes your dietary preferences, budget settings, and subscription status.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Generate personalized meal plans and grocery lists
• Maintain your account and subscription
• Sync your preferences across devices
• Improve the App's recommendations and features

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services for authentication, data hosting, subscription management, recipe data, and grocery pricing. We only share the minimum data required for each service to function, and no personal information is shared for advertising or marketing purposes.

4. Data Retention

We retain your server-side profile data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete all associated data from our servers within 30 days. Data stored locally on your device is removed when you uninstall the App.

5. Data Security

Your data is hosted on third-party infrastructure providers that implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
